The Captain's Disgraced Lady by Catherine Tinley #BlogTour @CatherineTinley @rararesources #Review

Thank you so much for stopping by today for my stop on the blog tour for The Captain's Disgraced Lady by Catherine Tinley. I'm delighted to be sharing my review with you all but first things first let's take a look at the description for the book...

Who is Captain Harry Fanton?

When Juliana Milford first encounters Captain Harry Fanton, she finds him arrogant and rude.

There’s no way she’ll fall for his dazzling smile! Her visit to Chadcombe House was always going to prompt questions over her scandalous family, so she’s touched when Harry defends her reputation. She’s discovering there’s more to Harry than she’d first thought...

A man so plagued by the demons of war, he’s sworn he’ll never marry, no matter how tempted...

I think anyone who reads my blog knows that I have a soft spot for Historical Romance, I love how these books transport us to another time along with being pretty romantic too! They are my go to read if I need cheering up or just want to relax.

First of all I have to mention that this is book two in a series however I started this one with no confusion at all. The Captain's Disgraced Lady is easily a standalone although I have to say that I really need to find the time to read book one with Charlotte and Adam's story.

The first meeting between Juliana and Harry was fiery to say the least and made for some entertaining reading. The way the characters are written made me instantly root for them. It was so easy to get lost in this book with an intriguing secret from Juliana's mothers past that I couldn't wait to discover the truth about. Through to Harry's happy go lucky character which he uses to hide behind. Secrets never stay hidden for long and this story reveals them brilliantly. The characters were so engaging especially Harry, I may have fallen a little for him myself. He is strong, determined but vulnerable too which gave his character a lovely depth. Juliana is feisty especially when it comes to her family and I loved the sparks that flew whenever Harry and Juliana were together.

This is the first book that I have read by Catherine Tinley but it definitely won't be the last. With a gorgeous romance that had me sighing and smiling away to myself. Then add in the fabulous historical detail it really helped to bring the story to life and with a love of history I appreciated these parts even more.

A wonderful story where I was completely wrapped up in the characters lives. Charming, romantic and very sigh worthy!

Five stars from me.
